Mysterious Benedict Society blog post #1

My summer book was Mysterious Benedict Society and it was amazing. Three words to describe it would be; intelligent, suspenseful and exquisite. This book is about four children, Reynie, Kate, Sticky and Constance. All of them started out as orphans that didn't even know each other, but when a mysterious newspaper article bring them together at the footstep of a huge white mansion, it will take their combined talents to help them save the day and to help them survive. With Reynie's leadership, Kate's agility and athleticism, Sticky's vast knowledge and Constance's originality, they were able to accomplish anything.

The conflict of the story was that the four children had to go to a private school where it was said that those who went in, never came out the same way. Of course, this brought a lot of fear upon the children which began to cloud their minds with confusion, resentment and fear. At the end of the story, the children have found out that Mr. Curtain, the principal of the school, was actually Mr. Benedict's long lost twin brother, who had taken on the evil path since a very young age. They had to destroy Mr. Curtain's evil machine, the Whisperer, that basically sucked the life out of you and brainwashed you so that you could be Mr. Curtain's slave forever.

The children end up having to outwit Mr. Curtain along with all of his henchmen, because they knew they were no match if they ever got into a fist fight, but when they go to try and rid the world of this evil machine, they find Mr. Curtain waiting for them. I recommend this book to people that like to be kept on the edge of their seats and to people that enjoy a good mystery.
